Taking over the UAE wellness industry

Dabbling in the manufacturing of skincare, hair care and oral care products, perfumes and hygiene solutions, Beauty Perfume International (BPI) is a newly established company run by both Directors Mohamad Diab and Azhar Akbar Mun. In conversation with them, the duo shed light on the company’s state-of-the-art technologies and its efforts to produce high-quality products.

What was the primary objective behind the establishment of BPI?

At BPI, we do prioritize three key concepts; First, we manufacture our own brands of perfumes. We sell our perfumes in more than 40 countries. Second, we manufacture our own personal care brands and third, we contract manufacture for a lot of different companies like Himalaya and Jergens. Apart from the UAE, we retail in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Bahrain.

What new trends have you observed in the fragrance market – whether in terms of ingredients, manufacturing process, packaging or consumer buying?

Recently, we found out customers in the market are on the look-out for non-alcoholic perfumes. They want to use silicon-based perfumes, which is also a big trend. Therefore, we are trying to get with the trend. Hair perfumes are also making a splash in the market. Nowadays, Body Mist products are also becoming more popular than mainstream products.

What is the distinctive added value of BPI’s USP in a market?

One of the key drivers which attract our customers is our 360-degree experience as we offer customized products with all shipment and regulatory operations since we work with Dubai Municipality. This is what maintains our competitive added value in the market as we always prioritise our customers’ needs.

Any new launches in the pipeline?

There are many projects coming up for brands such as Davidoff, foaming face wash creams and medical creams. We also have over-the-counter products in this segment. Medicated shampoos, creams and lotions and products like sulfate-free shampoo and extra protein ones are in demand. Our R&D team is working tirelessly to come up with new products such as hand wash. As you can see, anti-bacteria is very significant today.
