Founded in 1872, Wilo has evolved from being a local specialist to a global player, employing around 7,700 personnel across 90 countries. And the company continues to grow and expand, underlined by the opening of its Dubai facility in Jafza earlier this year.
“We have become a major supplier of pumps and pump system solutions in local markets. In the future, we will be able to better and more efficiently serve the needs of our customers and partners in the region by fulfilling local market requirements with tailored products, solutions and services.”Georg Weber, Chief Technology Officer of the Wilo Group
Congratulating the manufacturer on the launch of the new facility, Mohammed Al Muallem, CEO and Managing Director of DP World, UAE Region and CEO of Jafza, commented:
“The opening of the new Wilo facility is a fortuitous event that highlights Dubai’s ability to support an indigenous manufacturing sector. Manufacturing has already grown to become an important economic contributor, accounting for 9.4 percent of Dubai’s GDP in 2017, which is expected to grow to 20 percent by 2030 under the government’s Dubai Industrial Strategy 2030 vision.
“DP World, UAE Region is committed to supporting the government in its goals to further grow the emirate’s industrial sector, and we are creating the necessary incentives and services through our numerous Parks and Zones such as Jafza and National Industries Park in conjunction with the trade opportunities presented by Jebel Ali Port and Dubai Trade.”
