Top global electronics brands have a strong presence at Jafza
The growth of the electronics sector in Dubai and the UAE is driven by expanding disposable income and tourism, plus a sharp increase in internet penetration and the strong distribution network of leading manufacturers who have for decades made a beeline to Jafza to establish their regional network.
The sustained and steady development being witnessed in the run-up to Expo 2020 Dubai, which is expected to see 25 million visitors during its six months from 20 October 2020 to 10 April 2021, is also a major influencer of demand for the electronics products and support services.
Ongoing growth in consumer electronics in the UAE is forecast, with total sales value estimated at AED12.3 billion by 2021.
Jafza is home to more than 1,200 electronics companies from 90 countries and continues to be the preferred destination in the Middle East for the global electronic goods sector.
Jafza’s electronics and electrical industry segment is expected to grow at a steady pace over the coming years, especially with leading companies launching innovative and user-friendly products that enthral millions of consumers.
All the leading international electronics brands have a strong presence in Jafza. They include Sony, LG, HP, Toshiba, Samsung, Panasonic, GE, NEC, Fujitsu and Hitachi. The combined facilities, including plots, office/workstations and warehouses of these companies add up to 1.28 million sqm (Fig 1).
