Covax to receive 200 million vaccine doses from Jhonson and Jhonson

In an agreement that will help Covax vaccinate the world’s poorest nations, Gavi, the public-private health partnership co-leading the initiative, will collect 200 million doses of Johnson and Johnson vaccines. Although it is unclear as to when the doses will begin to be distributed, Gavi will buy the doses from Johnson & Johnson at a reduced price, and expects the doses to be supplied before the end of this year. So far, the Covax program has successfully shipped out 71 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines and intends to distribute a total of 237 million doses in total.
